This website was created to document the life and works of Mr Samuel Ting Chu-San, my father.

He was a very well-known and well-respected musician in Singapore.

Sadly, he passed away in 2007.

I’ve often thought that it is such a shame, that once he’s gone, his works, his legacy will all be gone when people who knew him are also gone.

As his children, we want to see his legacy preserved.

I want his music to live on for generations to come, long after I’m gone from this world.

He wrote good quality music. I’m not saying that just because he’s my father.

Listen to them in “
A Selection of Samuel Ting’s Compositions” on .

He had a lovely baritone voice. Listen to him sing in “Inspiring Moments” on (tracks 1, 3 and 5).

You can also find additional information and listen to all the songs in full on the
“Recordings” page.

I can never get tired listening to him sing. I only wish he’d sung and recorded more.

I would have happily added a page in Wikipedia and be done with it but apparently the criteria for adding a “musician” is that they need to have won an award or prize or top hits with their music.

Well, my father was a very humble and talented man. He wasn’t a rock star, he didn’t produced lots of records / CDs and he didn’t hit Gold / Platinum either.

He had written many beautiful songs, arranged just as many songs written by others, all the while promoting “good, healthy” music in Singapore.

He was awarded the Public Service Star by the President of Republic of Singapore in 1970 but I guess that doesn’t fit the criteria of “music awards”.

So I’ve decided to create this website to share his life, his achievements and his works.

It’ll be more fun this way. I can load more photos than Wikipedia will allow.

This site will expand as more information is collated and added so please come back and visit us from time to time.
