Mr Samuel Ting produced two recording albums in his lifetime.
The first was “Inspiring Moments”, produced in early 1970’s. It was released on LPs and cassette tapes. The choir members were involved in putting the hundreds of cassettes and its sleeves in the blank cassette cases.
They were sold in bookstores in Singapore and at a few of Heralds’ concerts.
In 1993, when the second album “A Selection of Samuel Ting’s Compositions” was released on CD, “Inspiring Moments” received a new lease of life and was transferred to CDs.
Both albums suffer from the reality that physical stock takes up real estate space and resources are needed to take stock of the inventory.
Now finally, in 2015, both CDs are now released online, free of physical presence, to be preserved and reach a much wider audience - the world.
We have made both albums available to listen, free of charge, on this website via the two media players.
The two media players are different in appearance due to the albums being released through different companies.
It is our hope that these two albums will introduce Samuel Ting to the world… and the world to Samuel Ting, his talents and his music.
“Inspiring Moments”

Some notes of interest for “Inspiring Moments”: (all sung in English)
Tracks 1, 3 and 5 featuring Samuel Ting as the soloist.
Track 7 “Abiding in Christ” was not in the original 1970s recording. This song was composed by Samuel Ting and was included in the 1993 CD recording.
All soloists in the album were former vocal students of Mr Ting.

“A Selection of Samuel Ting’s Compositions” is an album sung in Chinese Mandarin.
The last 3 titles are instrumental performances.
Due to online publishing restrictions (i.e. iTunes), Chinese characters cannot be accepted, hence the album is published in the English language.
All songs are, however, digitally re-mastered so they sound much better than the original CD version.
As the name suggests, these are all songs composed by Samuel Ting.
Many of the performers in the album were his vocal / piano students.
He was the pianist for most of the soloists in the album.
Track 20 “Joyful Dance” is an interesting one. It used to be a big choral work written for 3 choirs, 2 pianos (with dancers) and was used as the grand finale of the evening at the choir’s concerts.
The stage was certainly very crowded by that stage and Mr Ting had to conduct from the orchestra pit!
In 1993, with the subsidiary choirs disbanded years ago, Mr Ting re-arranged it as a piano trio for the recording of this album and even more creatively, it was performed by a single performer.
It may not be the best mix but we hope you can imagine the grandness of the music in its hey day.
